Through constantly crawling the web, NetExtract is able to provide an overview of the UK web market. Over 1.87 million UK web sites are visited and profiled, with each individual sites key technology and content identified.
NetExtract provides a snapshot of the key characteristics on UK web sites, from web server type to web site size; ecommerce enabled web sites to particular ISP clients. With technologies constantly evolving these reports allow companies to understand changes in web site technology, content and the trends within.
The web reports are calculated from over 1.87 million active .co.uk, .net.uk, .org.uk, .ac.uk, .ltd.uk, .plc.uk domains in the UK and the data below is based on the following samples:
Profile Library Size:

*A huge number of web sites are implicity omitted. This is due to a number of reasons such as: The site did not respond on three different attempts spread over 6 days, the site is classified as SPAM i.e. a site whose sole purpose is manipulation of search engines / gateway pages for affiliate programmes that detract from the actual core number of sites that offer value on the Internet.
Hosting Type:
The web hosting report indicates whether a company has its web site hosted on a web server shared by other companies or on a dedicated server.

For each web site profiled the number of pages is identified. A small designation is given to sites that have 1-25 pages, medium to sites with 26-125 pages and large for sites with 126+ pages.
