Email Address Validation
Through NetExtract’s net crawling technology, company data and ebusiness information is identified on web sites. NetExtract has indexed 45 million UK Domains and has profiles on over 1.85 million active web sites, each complete with company and ebusiness data. In addition to this NetExtract offers a validation process for lists of email addresses. The benefits of such a process are:
- Decreasing the bounce back rate
- Thereby increasing the response rate
- Supplying an email list to clients with confidence of its performance
There are a number of different types of email servers, all with setup variations. When the email address is sent to the server the email can be accepted or rejected. However, some email servers accept all email addresses no matter whether the actual email address (or contact) actually exists at that company. These emails are placed in a virtual ‘bucket’ that can then be viewed, forwarded to the appropriate contact or deleted if incorrect.
NetExtract’s email address validation process identifies these email servers that accept all email addresses. When inputting a list of email address for validation its critical to identify those that are correct and will be delivered to the inbox. Therefore NetExtract returns a flag for each email input: Yes/No/Maybe.
Yes – the email address is correct, is accepted by the email server and would be delivered to the inbox
No – The email address is incorrect and has been rejected by the email server
Maybe – The email address could be correct or incorrect but the email server accepts all email addresses
Obviously the number of email addresses accepted depends on how up-to-date the email list supplied is. However, this process generally achieves a 30-40% validation rate of email addresses being correct.
Each email address input is checked and flagged, therefore NetExtract charges per email address input into our email validation process.
